Trieste Sogna is a short animated film that comes from a series of chance encounters between professionals in various fields working in Trieste.

But maybe nothing happens by chance.

“I have a little story to tell…” With these words Paola Ramella, an illustrator, began to tell her story and it took her only the following three minutes to bewitch Carmelo, who has decided to direct a short animated based on the comic boards created by Paola.

The subject of Paola Ramella, professional illustrator and curator of the cartoon school Graphite, had already become a script edited by Guendal, who has been Paola’s collaborator for years (Lions and Saints, the green whisper and purple thoughts and other copyright comics).

Meanwhile Carmelo Settembrino, a video and communications professional, director of short films and commercials, was fascinated by audiovisual animation techniques, starting the production of an animated television series with his company. By establishing partnerships with several video animators, he met Denis Rapisarda with whom the idea of transposing this story and these images into a short animation was born.

Only thanks to the passion for this project a 2 minute trailer was already completed and presented as a Special Event on March 21 at the prestigious festival in Cortina Cortinametraggio and in correspondence also in Trieste at the National Cinema.

Now we need your help to complete the short, realize our dream and enable as many people as possible to be a part of it, coming to share this amazing story, set in this magical city, Trieste, through festival participation and national competitions International.

Trieste is often described as a city in some respects asleep, away, suspended between past and future, between fantasy and reality, but precisely because of such a unique atmosphere, full of nature, art and history. We do not intend to wake abruptly, but what we love, we want to make it known and loved just as in its exceptional and unique dimension of “dreamer".
